Latest and Greatest

As you all know Matthew had his sinus surgery on December 27,2007. The surgery went well although father and I were both basket cases. We went to JDCH at 6:15 a.m. and entered the outpatient clinic waiting area. This space is getting so familiar that its sickening. We were called fairly quickly and went back into the Pediatric Ambulatory waiting area were Matthew changed into his hospital garb. The nurses in this area looked like the geriatric crew. What a difference from the heart wing to this out patient wing.
At this point Matthew had some time to worry about the surgery and proceeded to get him self sick.....throw up number one......the only thing we could find to throw up in was the garbage pail......we finally moved up to the pre-op area and in came Sam our favorite Anesthesiologist. Sam had a kind of worried look on his face I think because he is and adult anesthesiologist rather than a children's doctor, but he was saved because Dr. Richard Berlin came to his rescue. We were all glad to see Dr. Berlin and Matthew relaxed quite a bit after this. Matter of fact Matthew even drank the funny juice that makes you not give a hoot what they are going to do to you. After a few minutes Dr's Berlin and Montaque swept him out of pre-op towards the OR.....I cried......this is sooooo hard watching your child get wheeled away again.
